Alongside realising Josef Hoffmann's furniture designs for the Paris World Exhibition in 1900, Anton Pospischil obviously worked closely with Georg Klimt. Klimt was commissioned by Pospischil to design a series of fittings for some pieces of his furniture, which Pospischil repeatedly executed with slight variations, adapted to the respective functionalities and requirements. Many of Posposchil’s pieces thus feature similar fittings and reliefs signed by Georg Klimt.
