Fritz Nagel, son of furniture manufacturer A. Nagel, studied architecture at the School of Arts and Crafts under Josef Hoffmann from 1903 to 1906, sometimes at the same time as Mauritius Herrgesell. The two also repeatedly competed for prizes awarded by the magazine "Innendekoration".
This piece was created in his father’s workshop.
