This large format work shows the extraordinary expertise at the Austrian State Printers in artistic planographic printing. For the original artist’s lithograph, Krenek reworked the stone by hand in order to be able to reproduce the nuances of colour in the print. In the silhouette-like depiction of the flowery meadow, the artist combines a high level of abstraction with a lyrical overall atmosphere. This makes the print one of the most beautiful depictions of landscape in Viennese planographic printing.
