Until recently, the Friedrich Otto Schmidt company (as well as its Budapest branch) was the most important manufacturer of design furniture in Vienna, producing mainly pieces based on French and English design models. The company’s fame was, however, built on the furniture it manufactured based on designs by Adolf Loos, Wilhelm Schmidt and Koloman Moser.
