Linz 1867 – 1939 Oberalm near Salzburg
Frank studied painting, initially in Graz thereafter in Berlin and London. 1891–94, he studied under Schönleber in Karlsruhe. He then lived in Munich and was a member of the Luitpold Group and a professor at the academy. 1907–10 Executive Committee responsible for décor and costumes of the Hofburg Theatre in Vienna. He made many study trips. His oil and watercolour paintings usually showed coastal or ship motifs or were seascapes. Numerous paintings were shown in exhibitions in Austria and Germany (especially after 1900 in the Glaspalast in Munich, but also in Berlin, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Graz, Prague, Vienna etc.). In addition, he worked as a craftsman and architect.
