Because of his extraordinarily imaginative and multifaceted work, Teschner was called the "Wizard of Gersthof". He created theater sets and puppets, book illustrations, sculptures and postcards, and held a teaching position as a professor. Teschner was a member of the Klimt group as well as the Wiener Werkstätte, for which he designed postcards, sculptures, metalwork, goblets and book illustrations.
