Draughtsman, etcher, interior designer, craftsman and poet
In 1923, during his first stay in the Soviet Union, he lectured on art education at a Moscow university. After further stays, he finally moved to the Soviet Union in 1931.
He designed stage decorations and puppets for the puppet shows of the state Kolkhoz theatre on behalf of the Odessa artists' administration.
From 1940 to 1941 he was mainly active as a painter of the landscape and the life of peasants and shepherds.
